Surveys Next Week; Using Backerkit to Allow Pledge Increases
about 10 years ago – Mon, Jan 25, 2016 at 01:59:20 PM

Wanted to give you a quick update on our progress. Next week we'll send out surveys using a new service we just partnered with called Backerkit. Backerkit will allow you to make changes to your pledges, for example, increasing your pledge to $50 (the 'EMPEROR' level), if you want to get in on the 'Free Digital Copies of All Products We Make in 2016' deal. Map backers will be able to get their digital maps right after the survey goes out.

Another reason backing at $50 is cool is that you'll get the free digital copies of a new project we recently started. It's called Dungeonesque Red Box. Frank Mentzer has put his public support behind this project and Enworld has reported on us saying 'Dungeonesque: Is 5E's 'Pathfinder' Already Here?'! We're exciting about the press and look forward to delivering these and many other products to you in 2016.

Help Coming For Those Wanting to Pledge $50; Delivery Schedule
about 10 years ago – Wed, Jan 20, 2016 at 07:22:20 PM

Hi folks! Quick update on our (now-funded) Kickstarter!

In this update I will (1) explain my commitment to allow backers who still want to pledge at $50 to get in on the all-2016-digital-products-for-free deal, (2) give updates on the delivery schedule, (3) talk about the Google+ community for Charter Members, and lastly (4) talk about our upcoming new RogueComet.com website.

(1) Help for People Still Wanting To Become Charter Members -- I am working on the best way to allow current Kickstarter backers who want to up their pledge to the $50 'EMPEROR' level and become a Charter Member. Stay tuned, it might be a few days. I'm working on some different options (Kickstarter surveys vs. BackerKit.com vs. just manually doing Paypal).

Backstory for those interested: Yesterday WOTC released the OGL for 5e. When that happened, several products on my backlog suddenly became feasible. With that knowledge, I was finally able to announce a great roadmap of products in 2016. With that in mind, I offered something special to $50 Emperor (Charter Member) backers -- you get ALL products I release in 2016 FREE! Response was overwhelming, but I goofed on two fronts: (A) I forgot that I had a cap on the number Charter Members, and that filled up almost immediately. Many minutes passed before I noticed and increased the limit on Charter Members. Some folks wanted to increase their pledge, were locked out, and missed the window (and then the Kickstarter ended). (B) I offered this later in the day (my time in Dallas, TX) and this really put international folks (or folks busy with a day job or whatever) at a disadvantage if they missed the news. Anyway, I feel really bad about those two issues so I am committed to getting folks who still want to fund at the $50 level a way to do that. Bear with me -- could be as late as the end of month till I work out details on how you increase your pledge.

(2) Product Delivery Schedule -- It takes up to two weeks for the pledges to finalize (due to folks payment method not working and giving them time to pay with an alternate means, etc.). To prevent confusion and duplicate work, I'll be waiting till the end of January to send out the January products. So at the end of January, after pledges finalize, I'll send out:

  • i. Maps -- for map backers.
  • ii. GM Screen Inserts -- to everybody.
  • iii. Bonus Adventure 'Raiders of the Virgin's Pilgrimage' -- to the folks who spread the word on Social Media and dropped me an email to alert me. Be sure to send me an email at [email protected] if you posted on social media to make sure I didn't miss you!

Rest of the products will come in February or later, just as described in the Kickstarter.

(3) Google+ Community -- This is exclusively for Charter Members (those who backed at the $50 'EMPEROR' level or higher). Like #2, I need to wait till the end of January before I create and open up this community since there's still some flux in people's pledges.

(4) RogueComet.com -- 'Dude, why do you have a dated website?' I'm in the process of building a new web site, but it may be a few days before it is ready. In the meantime, I want to share our company's slogan which you'll see on the new web site. It's "Simply. Smarter. Gaming." Simple games like the Dungeonesque Red Box RPG (just announced earlier today, now funding on Indiegogo at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/dungeonesque-red-box-rpg). Smarter tools, specially designed for busy GMs. Gaming -- because it's the best hobby on the planet!

Folks, your support has been phenomenal. I look forward to delivering these and other great products to you in the weeks ahead!
